UniPass
is the UNSW Universal Password System, for secure access to
UNSW Online Services including myUNSW, WebCT, Unimail, University
Wide Network and many other services. Without a unipass you
will not be able to access any online services.
UniPass is the Universal Password
for online services at UNSW. In conjuction with your UNSW User
ID, they provide a way of electronically verifying your identity.
The UniPass can be used to access UNSW online services such
as UniMail, UDUS, myUNSW, WebCT and the UNSW Library's Electronic
Resources.
How UniPass works
UniPasses are a series of letters and numbers
used to gain secure access to Online Services. When you enrol
at UNSW, your first UniPass will be randomly generated. After
you have activated your Online account, you can change this
UniPass to something easier for you to remember.
How you get your first UniPass
issued depends on your type of enrolment. To find out how to
get a UniPass on enrolment, select from the links below which
best describe your enrolment status -
UniPass is used as a single password
for most centrally run Online Services at UNSW, such as UniMail,
UDUS, UniWide, myUNSW and WebCT. It is also used for many local
school/faculty based IT Services. However, some localised services,
run by some schools, and some library databases require their
own passwords.
UniPasses are like your ATM card
number, so you should keep it secure at all times. If you lose
or forget your UniPass, you can have another one issued by visiting
IT at UNSW, e-Spot or CoFA Computer Support Unit.
