UniMail is
the UNSW Central Electronic Mail System, provided and supported by IT at UNSW. UniMail
is provided free to all current UNSW staff members while employed
at UNSW.
Setting
up UniMail access using an email client
To access UniMail, you will need to use an email client. Email
clients are software applications that enable you to read, send
and manage your email. Software like Eudora and Outlook Express
are examples of email clients.
Which
email client should you use
You can a recent version of most major email client applications
you wish to access UniMail. However, IT at UNSW only
supports selected email client applications for use with UniMail.

IT at UNSW currently supports the Eudora, Outlook Express,
Outlook, Netscape Communicator (later versions) and Entourage
email clients using the UNSW UniMail system.

Some schools and departments use Lotus Notes for accessing email.
Lotus Notes is run by local email servers, separate from the
central UNSW UniMail Servers. These servers are run by and supported
by your local IT support personnel. the IT Service
Desk can assist you with problems related to accessing and using
Lotus Notes.
