UDUS is is
the UNSW Dial Up Service. It is the UNSW Internet Service Provider
(ISP). UDUS is run by IT at UNSW on a non-profit
basis. UDUS supports remote dial in access via modem (up to
56.6kps speeds) to the UNSW University Wide Network and Internet.
The UDUS service is available for the cost of a local call within
the Sydney Area.

UDUS was introduced in 1996, and provides a low cost, high quality
service for UNSW students and staff.
Automatic Access
for UNSW staff
UDUS access is provided automatically
to all UNSW, NIDA, CoFA and AGSM general and academic staff
members, on completion of a CU01
- Communications Access for New Staff application
form. All staff have access to UDUS, regardless of whether you
use the service or not. You can start using UDUS at anytime
whilst your employed at UNSW.
Flat rate pricing
- No set up or monthly access fees
UDUS is charged at a flat rate of 75¢
per hour (including GST) at any time of the day or night. There
is no monthly access, download or set up fees. UDUS is a prepaid
service, so you must have some money on your UDUS account to
be able to access the service.
UDUS has no per megabyte fees or download quotas
Using your computer's own internet connection tools, you
can easily set up a UDUS connection. instruction guides for Windows and Mac OS
operating systems are available from the IT Service Desk, on this web site, or
in downloadable formats such as Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Word. If you need
assistance or experience any problems, you can call the IT Service Desk on 9385
1333, during opening hours.
